Premiership Betting Review – 22 January 2006

Chelsea, at huge 15 odds-on were the biggest coupon busters of the day after they could only manage a 1-1 draw with London rivals Charlton Athletic. Eidur Gudjohnsen gave Chelsea the lead after 18 minutes but new Charlton signing Marcus Bent came off the bench to net an equaliser on 58 minutes.

Manchester United vs Liverpool was the highest profile match of the day. The bookies had banked on a draw and that result looked a 2110 reality until Rio Ferdinand thundered in a stoppage time header for a Reds victory at odds of 1310.

United can be backed to win the Premiership in the “without Chelsea” market at 56 while Liverpool remain second favourites in the same market at 65.

Arsenal’s wretched away form continued with a 1-0 defeat at Everton, their sixth loss on the road this term. The Gunners came close to breaking the deadlock only for 112 shots Everton to rush straight up the other end for James Beattie to score.

In the battle at the bottom, 1110 Birmingham City hammered fellow strugglers Portsmouth 5-0 at St. Andrews. Steve Bruce’s side are still three points off safety, while Harry Redknapp faces a tough task to keep Portsmouth in the top flight. They are now 25 to go down.

Sunderland gave themselves a fighting chance of survival with a battling 1-0 win at the Hawthorns. The Black Cats are 13 points away from safety, eight points behind second-from-bottom Portsmouth and are 801 outsiders to avoid relegation.

Wigan maintained their top six position with a slender win at faltering Middlesbrough. Wigan, at 52 raced into the lead within a minute and former Blackburn midfielder David Thompson doubled the advantage with a goalscoring debut. However, Boro levelled terms but another debutante, Neil Mellor, struck a 90 minute winner for the Latics.

A goal from unsettled striker Jared Borgetti helped 54 Bolton to a 2-0 win over Manchester City, while improving Blackburn, priced up as 2310 outsiders, inflicted more misery onto Graeme Souness, with a 1-0 victory over Newcastle.

Tottenham were another coupon buster after a drab goalless draw with struggling Aston Villa. Martin Jol’s side were 811 good things before kick-off.…

Online Poker – Are My Cards Truly Random

Online Poker – Are My Cards Truly Random

Online Poker 101

There is no shortage of online poker sites, many offering attractive signup incentives. Many people have the same initial questions and this article tries to answer the basic questions and concerns of the novice player. Once you have read this short article you will be ready to begin playing for yourself, be it for recreation or excitement, the world of online poker is waiting for you.

1. Are my cards truly random

Online poker rooms use a random number generator to ensure cards dealt never follow a predictable pattern. A random number generator uses the same algorithms that are used in the SSL encryption technology. You are probably familiar with SSL encryption if you have ever used online banking.

2. If I win will I get paid

The short answer is yes, if you have chosen a reputable site. Online poker rooms have nothing at stake in the games; they sell chips to players and distribute money to winners after the game. An online poker room makes their money by collecting a small percentage from each pot, referred to as the rake, which is in the area of 5% of each pot.

3. Are there any advantages to playing online poker versus live games

The short answer is yes! Because there are virtually no overhead costs, online poker rooms have much lower rakes than a casino or live game can offer. Online rakes are usually 5% while a casino can have a rake between 10-20%.

Another advantage to online poker is that many sites offer free play, where you can get comfortable with how online poker playing works before diving in and placing your first wager. It has been noted that many novice players shy away from the poker tables at a casino because they are not comfortable placing their first wager blindly before being familiar with the rules of play. Online poker playing allows the player to break the ice with free plays so that when they are ready to begin betting they already have a familiarity with the setup and procedures.

Another factor that makes online poker more attractive is that the poker software will let you know exactly how much is in the pot, the amount other players have bet and the minimum and maximum amount you may bet. This is a relief for the novice player and also valuable information for the advanced player who can use this information to make more accurate pot odds calculations.…

making big money with worldpokermania.com

making big money with worldpokermania.com

It’s been more than 1 year since my friend told me about poker. till that time i did not have any idea, how to play poker at all. He is pretty good in it and just taught me rules and all that stuff around. But what nobody can teach you, is bluffing and knowing your players around. You can get into the game very fast and it’s gonna get you. From beginning mostly you lose, if you lucky you win, then couple times lose again, just up and down. But it’s gonna get you. Because you got this feeling, next time i win, but you may not. So the most important on the game is get to know who you play with. Just focus on it. Worldpokermania gave me this chance, even though they dont have 1000’s players which i see as advantage, because mostly those players play once while and dont spend so much time with it. I became addicted and play a lot of poker, mostly texas holdem, getting better and beating all players around. Since that time it seems to me making money is so easy…I just want to say to all guys they have ever thought about playing poker, begin in small poker room, in my opinion Worldpokermania.com is the best choice, they got beautiful tables and great promotions and you learn all about poker there, you dont have to spend even dime to become a really good player, they got play money, no risk at all. After while, you better get going to play for real money, because of one reason. The players playing for points do not consider all the aspects of the game and play without any thinking ahead. Because of points they are not worried of the loss too much. You start at 0.050.15 tables to see how the poker should be played and you will love it. It just the most exciting card game in the world……
